Dangerous Women

This is a speech I read that was given by Nancy Wilson
I’d like to speak to you young ladies tonight about your future (now that’s a novel idea for a commencement address, don’t you think?) but, more to the point, the kind of women you want to be in that future.
You live in a time when women of all ages are hungry for purpose and direction in their lives. And it’s not just the young women who are flailing about trying to find their bearings.  Even Christian women can be confused. The lies of the feminist story have had more than a whole generation in which to ripen and bear fruit, and it turns out, it is a bitter and barren fruit. Continue reading ‘Dangerous Women

Nathanael said:

Praise the LORD! He does all things well!

  She said, Yes!!

The Lord has brought another young man and young lady together -- a commitment to marriage has been made for Nathanael Pena and Jesharelah Sax!  We are excited for them.

TRUST

Many years ago when I was in my late teens, my mom sent this poem to me on a card.  I have always enjoyed poems and often would write one or two here and there.  I have kept the poem card in my Bible for nearly 33years.  Still, I really did not  understand this poem. Well, I could understand the words and general meaning ...but not really the depths of the poem.  And I still am not sure I fully 'trust' so that I do not fret and worry.
But when cleaning out my Bible cover today, I found the poem.  And the words seem finally to take on the meaning the author meant for them to have.  As the Lord takes us through trials, our eyes open up to see --what was already there.  I still would like to see ahead--to know that all will be right, to know that the Lord did change a heart -- but He has all things in His hands under His control, and in His timing.  -- I must Trust the All Powerful for all of life.

Trust
I oft' times think I'd like to see
beyond my limits view.
I'd like to know the wondrous things
my gracious Lord will do.
But if I understood and saw
As God sees from above,
I'd lose the privilege and the joy
Trusting in His Love.  -- Ruth Narramore

Look who's behind the camera!!

...with a great big smile!

Keziah

Keziah is rather hard to capture on still photography....giggles, sillyness, laughter, and  movement make photographing her very challenging.  Lydia captured her still...at least for that moment!

Bach once said.."I play the notes as they are written, but it is God who makes the music."

Musicians are...Very Individualistic!!

Make Today a Beautiful Day

Early one morning, Lydia grabbed my camera and was out the door.  Later when she showed me some of her amazing photos...I realized that I was quickly being replaced as the family photographer!!

I thought not just about her beautiful photography, but the beauty of the flowers.  The dandelion, crab apple, apple, cherry, violet, different bulbs, azalea, rhododendron, lilac, and so many more flowers are in bloom or have just bloomed.  Our land has just been
so beautiful this spring. We are so blessed to be able to enjoy this God given beauty. But how so very
quickly the flowers fad and the only thing left are the pictures both on the computer and in our minds.  This reminds me of life... we have it but such a short time. Each day is passing(fading) by. What will I do with it?  It is today that God has given to me.  Let me see the beauty of every day life...where the Lord has put me.

Our Lawn Maintenance Crew

...or at least part of our crew. Deborah and Moriah received lessons in weed whacking this year.  Although they have done small amounts in the past...they are now the official 2010 Whacking Team!!

The Santos Family

What a blessing to have the Steve, Maria, and Sarah to visit with us for the weekend.  Late nights, lots of laughs, serious discussions, kittens, knitting and back road sightseeing made for a very delightful visit.

Foundations Matter

When a man starts buttoning his shirt wrong at the bottom,
it will be wrong all the rest of the way to the top.

Abigail

So much like her mom!

Motherhood is a far-reaching destiny indeed.

It is a high calling, a noble work, a great honor to any woman.  Motherhood, if used rightly, can bring a woman more happiness and genuine satisfaction than anything in life.  For God made a woman, and fitted her by nature for this task.--Beautiful Girlhood

It is books that teach us to refine our pleasures when young, and to recall them with satisfaction when we are old. -- L. Hunt

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods;
There is a rapture on the lonely shore;
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the sea, and music in its roar.  -- Lord Byron

For My Mother
Happy Mother's Day
Mother’s Day

This great celebration is only one day
Beautiful cards and fragrant bouquets
Thoughtful words come your way
Only one day – for Mother.

A day to honor and wash the dishes
A day to give and say good wishes
A day to visit and give you kisses
Only one day – for Mother.

Son and daughters and in laws, too
Grand little ones join the crew
Giving their love this day to you
Only one day – for Mother.

Cards abound with a fancy name
Created for Hallmark’s fame
For your honor, I will gladly proclaim:
Every day is – for my dear Mother!!

Nathanael's Birthday

Happy 21st Birthday, My Son
Listen my Son,
Open your heart that you may see
My heart poured out on bended knee
So many lessons you'll learn from me.

Listen my Son,
Talk not of tomorrow great things you will do
Labor hard today and see the work through
For tomorrow will come and the day will be new
The Lord blesses fruit that's godly and true.

Listen my Son,
Words flowing forth seem such a little thing
Truth, love, and hope they really could bring
But mistrust, hurt, and anger also could ring
From lips speak the heart in most everything.

Listen my Son,
Walk not today for yourself alone
The next generation God gives on us on loan
A blessing for you, it is God known,
They'll trod in the path today you have shown.

Listen my Son, one more time
A work to Him, God has chosen for you.
Whether you’re near, far, or across the great blue
My prayers will ascend to heaven for you,.
And always remember that….I Do Love You!!!
