What a beautiful way to spend our day.  The weather was beautiful.  This mountain has amazed me each time we've gone up.  It is said of the USA's first president, George Washington, "First in war, first in peace, first in the hearts of his countrymen." Maybe this is why they chose his name for this mountain--because the view from the summit captures their hearts.   People from all over the US and the world have come to the summit of this mountain, either on foot, or by car, van or train.

The elevation at Base Station where we began our trip was 2700 feet.  The elevation on the summit of Mt. Washington is 6288.  At times the cog's  incline was 37% !!  The ride up and back again was exciting and beautiful.  I picked up a couple brochures to leave in the guest room as a recommendation of an trip to make.

We stood at the summit.  Amazed that the Lord God of Glory chose to give us beauty everywhere we look. Imagine...the Creator of all...giving us this spectacular view.
Psalms 19:1   The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
