Galla Twins at 7 months

These two pages go side by side in my album. With such a simple layout the page goes together quickly.

I put in several layers on the pages. Using the opacity filter to give good depth.

With the Image Editor I adjust the lighting to reduce shadows and used the Perfectly Clear image tool.

Abigail Visits Grandma

In July I was down at Rebecca's for a day trip  and to pick up Keziah and Christianna, when suddenly plans changed!  Christianna stayed for a bit longer and Abigail came home with me!  That week she was with us was full of simple daily activities.  

These in-the-moment activities are what I want to record.

No special techniques or designs here.

Although there are three layers of paper.

The top two I used the blending tool.

Simple easy layout.

Cluck Cluck

On occasion when the Levesque family is out of town, we get the opportunity to help them out. Lydia helped at the house while they were in Maine this summer.  Watering the plants and feeding the chickens.  Sometimes one or two of the other girls would walk up with her. The bunnies and ducks would also be making their appearance.  These pictures tell it all.

Sometimes you don't want to use any paper or embellishments.  Just let the pictures speak for themselves -- and that's just what I did here. 

I used a text box shape for my journaling box which worked out just perfect for the location. Then I put a glow behind the words to help them pop off the page.

The Anatomy of a Japanese Salad

Lydia traveled to Japan in 2012 to help a missionary family. She picked up a few Japanese meals while over there. This Japanese Salad was one of them.  She made it for just our family one evening. Then in July while the Galla's were visiting she made it again.  Everyone enjoyed it. I think this will be added to our regular selection of meals. 

Don't forget to document the everyday happenings!

This page is a very easy click and fill layout.

The background is a solid tan color paper. I reduced the opacity of the top layer of printed paper. This gives a very subtle effect without the design being over powering.

A Special Visit

I have begun recording the special events for the month of August in Artisan. We had many opportunities for photo shoots while Steve's parents were with us.

I used a picture to use as the background..then I applied a filter- Mosaic. I like the effect this had on the background!

The Pena Men

These Grandpa's needed a special layout that seemed ageless.  I did notice that I have the date wrong...August 7, 2014 is correct!

Steve hasn't had the opportunity to spend much time with his dad over the years. August will be a month that is long remembered.  His parents spent 4 weeks with us!

I used a special technique of layering the paper and elements so that they are blended into the background.
