Purification Day 5

We began this Purification Program
to help our bodies purify and rebuild from the inside out.
So really why do I need purification?
Purification, also known as detoxification, helps to remove toxins
from the body.

We are continually exposed to external toxins,
such as pollutants, pesticides, and chemicals.
Internally our bodies produce waste byproducts
as a result of normal metabolic function.
Our body is designed to rid itself of these toxins naturally,
but  it can become overburdened.
Purification gives the body additional support to expel these toxins,
which is important to maintaining health and vitality.

There are about 80,000 chemicals registered for use in the U.S.
It is said that hundreds of these chemicals can be found in our bodies.
These chemicals can disrupt the different systems in our bodies
including the immune system.
Here are just a few of the external toxins that effect us.
Household cleaning supplies
Pesticides and herbicides
Air and water pollutants
Caffeine
Cosmetics
Heavy metals
Preservatives
That's just the beginning of the list...there are so many more.
To be continued...
So on to our meals for the day.
Let me introduce you to my 1st helper in the kitchen
The Vita Mix is what I use to whip up our
delicious smoothies
and
salad dressings.
And we use it for much much more.
This morning smoothie
Strawberry Surprise
Strawberries and avocado
Created in the Vita Mix.
Lunch was another Big Salad.
Traditionally on Friday's we have
Taco Salad.
Since the Purification Program doesn't allow for many
of the items we are used to having
(like cheese)
we made a variation.
Green salad with red cabbage, green onions, and cucumbers
Stir fried onions and sweet peppers.
Mexican lentils
Christianna's guacamole
Naturally fermented beets.
This spicy meal hit the spot at noon today.
Another smoothie for the afternoon.
Red orange, pineapple, banana smoothie
The girls thought it was really
Wonderful!

Our Veggie Dinner
Steamed Broccoli over sauteed sweet onions
Kimchi
Sweet Potato.
Just right for a Friday.
