Dangerous Women

This is a speech I read that was given by Nancy Wilson
I’d like to speak to you young ladies tonight about your future (now that’s a novel idea for a commencement address, don’t you think?) but, more to the point, the kind of women you want to be in that future.
You live in a time when women of all ages are hungry for purpose and direction in their lives. And it’s not just the young women who are flailing about trying to find their bearings.  Even Christian women can be confused. The lies of the feminist story have had more than a whole generation in which to ripen and bear fruit, and it turns out, it is a bitter and barren fruit. Continue reading ‘Dangerous Women

  1. Dear Mandy,
What a powerful speech...and from the comments I read...a speech that stirred up a lot of emotions. There is so much guilty feelings today among Christian women...it is really so sad. I truly believe that being a godly role model...as we are called to be...is the most effective kind of witnessing. Also, if we can "love our neighbor" and help those women who stuggle...then perhaps they will see more clearly the purpose God has for them, and all women.
    Terrific post.
    Blessings,

  2. Mrs Pena,
When I read the title of this speech I must admit that I was a little confused. When I think of a dangerous woman I think of the type of woman spoken of in Proverbs 5:3-8. Definitely the type of woman that a man should stay clear of if he desires to live a godly life.

When I actually read the speech, however, my perspective on what a dangerous woman is broadened to say the least. Christian women who strive to live the way God wants them to live are dangerous. They are dangerous to a culture that is dominated by feminist thought.

I believe that a lot of people have been lied to regarding the relationship between men and women. The worst part is that Christians are also told these lies and many believe them. Christian women who are godly role models can be a great witness for other women (both believers and nonbelievers). They can also be a witness (indirectly) to men.

Christian men need to support women who strive to live the way God wants them to live. It cannot possibly be easy to be a godly woman in a culture that promotes the exact opposite, but, speaking eternally, it is definitely worth it.

Thank you for this insightful post.
    In His Name,
    Joshua
